On 6th of December (2012) the Local Ancient Network (LAN) group descended on Carminowe creek. Fuelled by fire baked potatoes they set to work clearing the scrub around the remains of an old Mill. .

Research is being carried out to try and protect a rare moth from extinction. The Sandhill Rustic Moth only exists in Cornwall, at Loe Bar at Porthleven.
